Born in Laguna Beach, California in 1974, a true Southern California kid who grew up surfing, skateboarding, playing baseball, basketball, and spending most days at the beach. After High School I moved to Los Angeles to pursue music. I played drums in a number of local bands, played all the famous LA Clubs, did a couple of tours, opened up for some great bands, had some great bands open up for our bands but eventually decided to switch gears after a decade of playing clubs. I graduated with a degree in Theater Arts from Cal State Northridge (CSUN), a State college in Los Angeles. After college I had an idea for a novelty toy line, I sold the property to MTV, made about 40k units, and sold the toys to Urban Outfitters, Tower Records, and like retail outlets. After a couple false starts trying my hand as an entrepreneur, I eventually started TLS in 2009. TLS was originally a “Do what we feel like, with whom we feel like” operation; i.e. collaborate with likeminded folks on fun projects. After 2.5 years building out some designer/vinyl toy programs I had made the conscious switch to try my hand at licensing. Eventually I created a proprietary format Called Action Vinyls™, which eventually would become an action figure disruptor, skinned with nearly 60 licenses, nearly 2k unique skus, and selling over 5MM Action Vinyls, over $40MM at retail, the experiment took root. Now TLS sells along side Funko, and other collectible Brands at retailers ranging from Walmart, Walgreens, Hot Topic, Barnes & Noble, and your favorite local ma and pa comic book and toyshops. Sold in over 15k doors worldwide, TLS is starting to make an impact in collectibles, and on the global toy stage.
I love to read, write, draw, paint, surf, play drums, play guitar, hang with my dog, chill with my girlfriend, and spend as much time at the beach as I can. I love Les Paul guitars, Ludwig snares, DW drums, Marshall amps, and I collect art.
